How to Make Your Own Natural Baby Wipes

A recent survey on the brands of baby wipes commonly available found that most contain in excess of 10 chemicals. These artificial ingredients can cause health problems which range from rashes to organ damage. Since you change your baby's bottom many times a day using these products causes a large amount of exposure to potentially harmful toxins.

Of course there are some good natural brands available but it is also very easy and economical to make your own reusable cloth wipes for children who are completely natural and environmentally friendly too!

Here's a simple recipe for a natural solution, wet wipes to clean the canvas can be sprayed too easy.

Take a 75ml spray bottle and fill almost to the brim with water.
Add half a teaspoon of olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil (do not use baby oil as this is not a natural product)
Add a few drops or sprays of natural liquid Castile soap. Look into your local health store for a delicate andnatural formula that is ecologically friendly and, if possible, especially formulated for babies.
Add 1-2 drops of lavender or chamomile essential oil. This is an optional extra which adds a natural aroma. It is vital that you only use pure essential oils and not synthetic fragrances.
Shake your bottle and spray on your wipes!

To make your diaper changes extra convenient you can fold your daily quote of wipes ready for use and wet them all with some water. Then spray the mixture all over the wipe and store your batch in a small waterproof container. This way you will always have ample wipes, exactly when you need them! After you use the wipe you can put it in the pail with your cloth diapers and wash in your regular machine load.
