So you have your tickets for Basilica Block Party 2010 or you're waiting for Cities 97 to announce the final acts before you blow your wad of cash on the first major outdoor concert of the year. Either way you're confused about what you can bring or what you can't bring onto the grounds of the church. Based on my experience I'm going to tell you the must haves in order to make this event memorable for you, your friends and family.
1. Wear sunscreen this is an outdoor concert unless you want to look like a tomato the next day.
2. Drink plenty of water it's okay to get star struck when you're standing 15 feet away from your favorite band, but it's not cool fainting from dehydration and spending the rest of the concert in the back of an ambulance or on a funky cot with an IV needle in your arm.
3. Bring a poncho, you may look silly but at least you'll be dry. The weatherman is always wrong.
4. Wear comfortable shoes, sure you may look hot in stilettos but your bunions will thank you in the morning.
5. Hand Sanitizer and Baby Wipes, Porta Potty nuff said.
6. Don't even think about driving into downtown after 2:00pm unless you want to be sitting in traffic on Hennepin Avenue. Take the Light Rail and walk you could use the exercise.
7. Buy the VIP Ticket, sure its $150.00 bucks, but you get free parking, free food from Baker's Ribs and free beverages (code for free beer) in the VIP area, luxury indoor bathrooms plus $110.00 is tax-deductible contribution...Cha Ching!
There you have it my 7 tips for surviving Basilica Block Party 2010, now go have some fun.
