Sometimes you can read all the books in the world but it can be difficult to process all the information you've taken in. I've written the following article on how to care for a new born baby. I've written it in an easy to read, short and to the point way so that you'll remember the key points without your brain going into over load.
Don't forget that if there are still questions that you haven't asked that midwives and health visitors will help you with anything you . Need
They were born the following equipment / essential for your new needs. I always recommend buying this before the baby arrives, so there is no added stress during the early days.
• diapers, sterilizing solutions and buckets or trays
• Diaper Cream
• baby lotion and cotton napkins
• changing table
• crib, carry cot, bed sheets and blankets
• Pram
• Clothing
If you are breast-feeding instead of abottle you'll need the following things-
• Bibs for the baby
• Muslin squares
• Nursing bras are always a help
• Breast pads
When breast feeding I would always recommend wearing easy access tops to save time.
If you have chosen to bottle feed you'll need the following-
Sterilising equipment
Bottles and teats
Bottle brush for cleaning
Newborn formula feed
For the first week or two the midwife will visit you every other day and will continue to for to the first month if you need it. She will be able to answer any questions you may have and will help you with anything you're finding difficult to adapt too. Your health visitor will also come and see you for the first week or two. She'll inform you of postnatal groups or classes you may want to attend to meet other new parents.
