Emotion in Poetry: Personification

Personification is the giving of human traits to nonhuman things that can not have these properties. Dogs can experience anxiety, so anxious to write a dog is not personalization. The clouds can experience anger, it's so "bad clouds" personification.

Write a poem about a talking cat personalization, but this does not mean that the embodiment increases the sense of poetry. So we must go deeper to understand how the use of this poeticThe device can and must help to find the emotions in the poem. (Note: All poetry, unless otherwise specified, copyright 2005 by Vivian Gilbert Zabel.)

Write in dark, towering clouds can a sense of fear, but look what happens when we use personfication:

The dark clouds were fast moving their anger
When he has choked the sky scared in the dark.

Now is the emotion - stronger, more pronounced - capture our attention. Of course, anger is a feeling, but with the cloudsshows increases the anger.

I often use personification in my poems, almost unconsciously, because it is the intensity of the emotions he added branches sigh, Whispering Winds, sleeping flowers, sky scared.

The Chapel

As a chapel on a steep rock;

Its tower upwards

My life is not to seek protection of the valley

Under the trees to keep the hot sun at bay.

Stone walls do not slow the force of the winds blows.

No, myChapel struggle to resist growling storms

Baking heat, cold and frost, shielded from attack.

But when I look around me in wonder, eyes wide open

scattered over the landscape in which I ever poll

The view is worth the struggle and fight pain.

Where can I see what beauty is found?

If I do not live on the disorder in the vicinity of clouds,

Despite the storms that shake the walls of life,

I lack the majesty that abound.

The road to mySteep hill can

In the teeth of jagged rock angry.

But it is worth the trip to the difficulty of emergency

Even if a violent storm obscured the sun,

For a rainbow, the rain will follow at some point,

Even when the storm swept away the chapel.

In the poem above, we see a fight and the angry rock band, the two images of a battle type of emotion.

The customization allows the reader to create and share more tempted by the emotions of the poet's mind.Applying the personification allows us to control everything.
