Dressing for Safari

On safari, most people wear shorts and a T-shirt during the day and put long-sleeved shirts and long trousers in the eveningfor warmth and protection against mosquitoes. If you are particularly sensitive to the sun a loose cotton shirt is essential during the day. Khaki, brown, olive and beige colors are best for games and game drives and walks.

White is not an appropriate color for these activities, as increasing the visibility of wildlife you want a closer look at them and they will be quickly soiled. Fleece or sweater and a windbreaker for game drives, because it is very likely to go, isare compared on a hot day, but a cold night to return. Remember that layering your clothing will keep you warmer than rely on a thick.

When storage space limited to safari vehicles, is just one bag is permitted, but should also have a backpack for all your personal / camera / binoculars. Hard suitcases are usually worn or damaged during transport and inappropriate for a safari game.

If part of your itinerary includes light aircraft flights, there are serious weightRestrictions. Usually are limited to 10 or 12 kg (22 or 26 pounds) per person in a soft bag. Space in a light aircraft at a premium, and the pilot may refuse to excessive or bulky luggage. The most common types of aircraft used for charter work, 206 or Cessna 210 and Cessna 208 Caravan. Slightly larger aircraft are often used in East Africa, but the baggage is still limited.

An adequate number of hand luggage and photographic equipment is usuallyallowed.

Remember that the pilot has the last word charter in terms of having your luggage and will be responsible for costs you should be your luggage transferred for you, or when an additional aircraft for transport shall be necessary.
